Internships

 

Stone Pine is currently seeking accounting interns for the winter/spring and summer of 2019. An internship at Stone Pine provides a well-rounded experience as interns have an opportunity to work on a variety of client engagements under the supervision of more senior firm personnel. An internship may be specialized in the tax or financial reporting areas, as well as a third option to work in both the tax and financial reporting areas. Upon employment, accounting interns receive a competitive salary, paid overtime and paid time off.

INTERN JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Tasks and responsibilities:

  •  Become familiar with firm policies and procedures

  •  Assume responsibility for completion of assignments

  •  Obtain a detailed understanding of the client’s partnership agreement(s) and how to apply it to deliverables

  •  Prepare quarterly financial statements and associated workpapers

  •  Prepare federal and state tax returns and associated workpapers

  •  Research various tax issues

  •  Coordinate and reconcile day-to-day cash and investment transactions

  •  Maintain general ledgers

  •  Maintain and update partner/ investor data

  •  Meet impromptu requests from clients and partners/ investors

  •  Other assigned projects

Qualified candidates will possess the following experience and qualities:

Required attributes:

  • Plans to meet the educational requirements to be a CPA candidate upon graduation

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Strong work ethic

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Thrive independently and as part of a team
